New Erection Drug Faster, Safer – Analyze with Canadian Family Pharmacy?

As human beings we are always looking for the latest gadget and gizmo, and the same holds true in the medical domain. With the release of the newest erection drug there have been questions about its effects. Is it faster? Is it safe? In this article prepared by Canadian Family Pharmacy Corp we are going to discuss each of these aspects and see if this latest addition to the already impressive line of erectile dysfunction drugs is any better than what is already on the market.

When Generic Cialis was released many people asked the same questions. Could any drug, no matter how good ever replace the much loved blue Viagra pill? It was the same story when Levitra came out. While the three major ED drugs have gone head-to-head over the years in terms of sales and competition, they seem to have each established a niche in the market and are set on staying there. So is there room for another drug on that ED shelf in our Canadian Family Pharmacy?

New Kid on the Block

The new kid on the ED shelf is Avanafil. The drug was launched in 2009 and even though many would not call that new, when it comes to medicine and seeing how drugs perform over time, Generic Avanafil would still be considered relatively new.

The drug of course has been met with great joy by some who were slowly but surely building resistance to the drugs already in existence. Avanafil arrived at a time when people were looking to alternative sources of medicine in a bid to try and cure erectile dysfunction and can be obtained today at Canadian Family Pharmacy.

People looking for cures had tried natural methods from acupuncture to drinking ginseng when Avanafil jumped onto the train of existing ED drugs. However the warm reception hasn’t come from all quarters as some health practitioners have expressed concern over the newness of the drug with some claiming that not enough clinical trials have been done to ascertain just how the drug is meant to function.

ED and Avanafil

How Avanafil Works

Avanafil is said to kick in within 30 minutes of having been taken. These results are based on the drug manufacturer’s results.

The results that have been achieved so far come from a study that was carried out on a group of 646 men all suffering from erectile dysfunction. These men were each given the new drug at different doses to test its effects and measure the time it takes before the drug kicks in and an impotent man can perform sexually.

The results showed that 8 out of 10 of the men were able to sustain an erection long enough to have intercourse.

How the study was carried out

Doses of 50 mm, 100 mm or 200mm were given to some of the men, while another set of men were given a placebo. The men were divided as follows:

  • 27% of the men took the placebo
  • 41% took 50mm of avanafil
  • 57% took 100mm of avanafil (generic stendra)
  • 57% took 200mm of avanafil

Side Effects

Avanafil
Being a new ED drug and one still in its infancy some of the key side effects that were noted are as follows: The chief side effect was a headache that seemed to affect 7% of the participants. Interestingly enough, some of the men on the placebo also claimed that they were having headaches.

The second side effect which affected the men in the study was flushing. Close to 4.6% of men who took the drug reported feeling flushed. Another side effect that was felt by approximately 2.3% of the men on avanafil was nasal congestion and difficulty in breathing.

While it may appear that these side effects are grave, the truth of the matter is actually that avanafil appears to have lesser side effects than the other three drugs currently on the market today.

Avanafil to date has gone through several different drug tests; with the initial set of tests being termed REVIVE. The studies conducted around Avanafil (pde5 inhibitors) wanted to see the effect the drug had on erectile dysfunction in men who were also suffering from diabetes. Another study wanted to know the results of the drug where it concerned men who had just come out of prostate surgery.

Avanafil was approved in April 2012 by the US FDA and also goes by the name Stendra when looking to buy it in pharmacies like Canadian Family Pharmacy Online.
